Henry Fish is currently in his final year of studying Film and English at the University of Southampton, working as a writer and director for both theatre and film. His theatre script, ‘A Serious House’ was shortlisted for The Uproar Theatre in 2022 and he subsequently wrote and directed a short film version of the script over the summer of 2022 after successfully securing the budget through a crowdfunding campaign. In 2021 he started the production company S&H Films with my frequent collaborator Sebastiano O’Grady. He has directed 4 short films for our company in that time. ‘Soup’ was funded by and is streaming on PJ’s & Pixels. ‘Winged and Imprint Dark’ has been selected for 8 film festivals and has won three awards for best cinematography, best horror short film and best student short film. ‘Limelight’ premiered at the Southampton International Student Film Festival in June 2022, winning awards for best direction, editing and cinematography. It was also screened as part of Cinemagic Film Festival 2022 in Belfast. He was also one of 35 selections for the CenterFrame Get It Made competition with his short script ‘Pater’. He attended a networking event at BAFTA 195 with the script and attached director Noomi Yates, a mentee of director Rose Glass (‘Saint Maud’), and producer Jack Pollington, a graduate of The National Film and Television School. They have subsequently pitched the film to CenterFrame for funding. He is primarily interested in unconventional horror films, black comedies, myth and folklore, these elements reoccurring in his work.
